Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Ready to Ramble from CBS to Levon's

"NGDB sounds fresh alongside the likes of Wilco and Son Volt." - Boston Herald
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will perform one of the new cuts from their
latest album 'Speed of Life' (NGDB Records/Sugar Hill) as well as their
classic "Mr. Bojangles" on the CBS Early Show on Saturday, November 21.
Later
that night, the group will bring their "deceptively masterful playing"
(Washington Post) up north to play Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble in
Woodstock, NY - a fitting locale for the band to showcase their
"rootsier, livelier" (American Songwriter) cover of "Going Up The
Country" featured on 'Speed.' Past guests at Levon's now-legendary
Rambles include everyone from Elvis Costello and John Prine, to Emmylou
Harris and Gillian Welch, among others.
'Speed of Life'
"continues the legacy with the Dirt Band's proven amalgam of country,
folk, bluegrass and rock," raves Country Weekly, and "makes the case as
well as anything that the Dirt Band is as vital and important a roots
music force as ever" (Tennessean).
"The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
pretty much inked the blueprint for alt-country in 1972, when it
engineered the landmark 'Will the Circle Be Unbroken' sessions that
matched L.A. country-rockers with the cream of Nashville. So it's no
surprise," explains the Boston Herald, that with their latest release,
"NGDB sounds fresh alongside the likes of Wilco and Son Volt."
